According to reports from WPDE, Lake City Police responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Independence Avenue. As officers rushed to the scene amid dangerous winter storm conditions, two Lake City police officers were involved in a crash caused by icy roads. Police Chief Patrick Miles confirmed the collision was a low-speed impact, and thankfully, both officers were not seriously injured. Upon arrival, officers began investigating the shooting that claimed Jayden’s life. Authorities have confirmed that a man has been detained in connection with the incident and that the weapon involved has been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
