Damion Lamarr Jacobs Death, Obituary: 19-year-old Damion Lamarr Jacobs from Fort Wayne Tragically Lost His Life

With heavy hearts, we remember Damion Lamarr Jacobs, a 19-year-old young man from Fort Wayne whose life was tragically taken far too soon. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community that watched him grow. At just 19, Damion had his whole life ahead of him—dreams yet to be fulfilled, milestones yet to be reached, and a future that should have been filled with possibility.

On Wednesday evening, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were called to the area behind an apartment building in the 6100 block of Holgate Drive after reports of an unconscious man around 8:30 p.m. Officers and medics arrived and made every effort to save his life, but Damion was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The Allen County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity and ruled his cause of death as a gunshot wound. His manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

Damion was more than the circumstances surrounding his death. He was a son, a friend, a loved one—someone who mattered deeply to those who knew him. His laughter, his presence, and his spirit will be missed beyond words. No family should have to endure the pain of losing a child, and no community should have to mourn such a young life cut short by violence.

As the investigation continues, the Fort Wayne Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward, hoping that justice and answers may bring some measure of peace to Damion’s loved ones.

Today, we honor Damion Lamarr Jacobs not for how he died, but for the life he lived and the love he gave. May his memory live on, may his family find strength in one another, and may Damion rest in eternal peace.
